Green Wing Macaw’s
Our Gorgeous Green Wing Macaw’s!
The Green Wing Macaw’s are one of the more recognizable macaw’s. They have a very deep Vibrant Red head, shoulders & breast, along with a greenish band below the shoulders & wings which transitions into dark blue on the wings & tail feathers.
Here at AMK Aviaries, we have recently welcome this gorgeous pair of Green wing Macaw’s, with potentially having babies in the next 18 months.
- Green Wing Macaw’s can be very affectionate, loving birds. They can also live up to 50/60 years, potentially even longer, they are much larger macaw and can grow up to 88cm long.
Diet’s & Feeding:
Every Morning our Green wing Macaw’s get a variety of mixed Fruit and Vegetables along with their Vetafarm Nutri Blend and a top-up of their Sun Flower Seeds. As Macaw’s do prefer more of the vegetables as such, we do provide them a sustainable amount of Vegetables along with some common fruit we know they personally do enjoy. Every afternoon our Macaw’s also do get a variety of mixed nuts such as Almonds, Walnuts, Hassle Nuts, Pecans, and Banana Chips. We also have an automatic watering system so all our birds have a shower and their water bowls are filled up once or twice a day depending on the heat. The Fruits and Vegetables we feed our Macaw’s consist of:

- Kiwi Fruit
- Passion Fruit
- Paw paw
- Beans
- Capsicum
- Beetroot
- Corn Cobs
- Carrots
- Snow Peas
- Spinach
- Broccoli
To ensure our Green wing Macaw’s are Happy & Healthy we do make sure we are very consistent with their diets and make sure they get the correct amount of Nutrients and sustainable amount of Water, to also ensure their babies are healthy too.
